Abstract

The article deals with the issue of forming communicative competence of applicants for higher education in the context of distance learning. The introduction of distance learning now and in the current circumstances in which we are is one of the ways to modernize higher education. The article considers such concepts as «distance learning» and «competence». The problems that arose at the beginning of the introduction of distance learning in higher education institutions are identified. One of the adaptive advantages of distance learning is the holding of frequent large-scale online meetings with students. The articles of domestic and foreign scholars on distance education and the formation of communicative competence of applicants for higher education are reviewed and analyzed. It has been found that the main factors influencing the formation of communicative competence of applicants for higher education are professional orientation, humanistic style of communication and focus on the cultural aspect. The requirements for teachers of higher education institutions in order to form communicative competence in future specialists are characterized. The relevance of introducing distance learning into the educational process is emphasized and substantiated. The emphasis is placed on synchronous and asynchronous modes of distance learning. The essence of integrated learning is revealed. The advantages and disadvantages of distance learning are investigated. The process of organizing educational activities on the Internet on the example of learning a foreign language is considered. The article emphasizes that the formation of communicative competences of applicants for higher education in the conditions of distance learning is provided by such activities of the teacher as facilitating the adaptation of students, establishing communicative connections, diagnosing educational achievements, using various didactic methods for the development of individual qualities of the student. Educational platforms for organizing distance learning on the Moodle platform are presented.
